Have just spent an hour online ordering books from Amazon! Just love browsing in bookshops in UK. Can spend hours in them. There is going to be a new bookshop opened in the Cozmo building soon. Hopefully they will have a decent stock at reasonable prices. Distribution is poor here. Cecil Hourani's book The Land and the Table (about Jordan) is just wonderful but so difficult to find. T

borrow vs. buying

i had a decent collection of fiction which i never reread, they were just popular fiction books... and they took up space and since i move every few years they were a burden. So I sold a bunch off on ebay. I figure the good books will survive.. i still have some, what you may call my favourites and of course more educational books.

Good post.

Well I agree with you on everything, really people nowadyas underestemate the value of books, still I really sometimes find some stores are just expensive.

The other week I was searching for "Children of Hurin" by "J.R.R Tolkien" and it was 27th! I mean 27 and it's only a novel, not more than 200 pages!

Thnaks for your inputs everyone :)

JoladiesT: Good to hear that! hope it will be a good one. I recently discovered a new bookshop, it's called "the good bookshop" in Jabal Amman. I passed by it twice but I didn't check it yet :o

About books prices, I think it has to do with the kind of paper used in printing and other stuff. but after all, people want to read, not to eat appreciate the paper (except for designers)
