Hmm am not sure who the other guy is but am pretty certain am on the safe side if I say both of them suck!
When someone like Amr charges as much as he does, and asks for the demands that he asks when asked to host lessons that automatically equates to a capitalistic opportunist. Simply that is his motivation nothing more and nothing less and it over shadows every good that he might have done.
It's the same with every TV persona, muslim scholars gather strength from the faithful of their schools, honestly i don't want to see a school that is headed by such a person.

On the other hand i agree with your last 2 paragraphs fully

i dont like Amr Khaled ,,, but i am not in love with other islamic scholars either ... they are a disgrace to our religion ... and its their reponsibilty in front of Allah that muslims are where they are now ... excpet a few of those who try to present Islam as the merciful religion it is ... but they are attacked by the ugliest ways by fundamentalsits ...

Bambam: even if I don't like the man, I won't go as far as accusingn him of being a capitalist opportunist. Let's not question people's intentions and look at the results he's achieved on the ground of reality, nobody can deny the change he's managed to make throughout the years.

We live in a completely retarded society. People are very skeptical, specially when it comes to religion.

We must admit that the common Arab man have a below average knowledge of Islam and yet they start to evaluate scholars and Imams.

And we have another problem with some Imams! Many imams are imams because they got low grades at schools and probably failed tawjehee once or twice before joining Islamic institute to become imams. Being Shaikh is a very easy job, and we should be carefully selective and not listen to some brainless (or bribed) Shaikhs.

Education is the answer, I believe.
