منيب يا صديقي العزيز،

أولاًً أحب أن أشكرك على طرحِك الدائم لموضوعات ذات أهمية كموضوعك هذا

موضوع الفيديو كليبات موضوع أخطر ما فيه ما ذكرته أنت عن تساهل الأهل فيه... اعتدت عندما أجلس مع رجال كبار في عمان أن أسمعهم يتحدثون عن المغنية الفلانية و آخر كليباتها، و صعقت ذات مرة عندما جلست مع مجموعة من الرجال المحترمين جداً لكنهم و فجأة بدؤوا يتداولون موضوع خطبة هيفاء وهبي و كل منهم أدلى بدلوه كما لو كان قد قضّى نصف حياته يدرس سيرتها

في دراسة الجزيرة توجد المعلومة التالية:
"في حين رفض 82% من الشباب التفاعل مع المجتمع الأمريكي و اعتبروا أن الجهاد الحل الوحيد لتحرير العراق و فلسطين"

هذه جملة تؤكد ما أقوله دائماً و مفاده أن معظم الشباب -حتى من يظهر اللامبالاةأمام الناس- فيهم حنين للدّين و أمجاد الأمة لكنهم لا يشعرون بهذا الحنين لانغماسهم في تسليات عصرنا من طلعات و فيديو كليبات و السواليف كلها. الجميل في الموضوع أنّك يمكنك أن ترى حنينهم للدين في مواقف معينة مثل حملة الغضب من الرسوم الدنماركية حيث وصلتني رسائل و ايميلات كثيرة منددة بهذا الموضوع من أناس لا أعرف عنهم أنهم يصلّون أو أنّهم يعيرون الدين اهتماماً . يمكنك أن تلمس هذا الحنين أيضاً عندما تحدث مجزرة جديدة في أي بلد مسلم.

باختصار الخير موجود لكن قلة من يستخرجونه على الدوام، و كثرة من يدفنونه تحت الفيديو كليبات و التهليسات حتى يطرأ أمر عظيم فيخرجونه.

thanks sari for your support by adding valuable comments and posts as usual.

And what you mentioned is true... You can feel that men and women, big or small, practicing muslims or not, they all love seeing islam practiced all over the world.

They are torn between following what they love and practice islam and with its teachings, and surrendering to the entertainment of this life with all its occupying pleasures.

inshallah, shway shway people are starting to unify their minds with their actions under "la elah ella allah, muhammad rasool allah". I can see this every place I go and I hear this in every religion program I see and I read this in every reglious book wal hamdullillah.

And besaraha... You can even see the effects of "going back to our religion" in TV series and some video clips.

In some video clips, the "mahboobah" ears hijab. In some TV series, many religious sentences and proverbs and ahadith are said in between dialogs.

Anyways, this might need another post.

Salaamon Alaikom Ya Muneeb,

As I was starting to read your blog, a picture of a woman (who seems to have just jumped from one of the video clips) started crossing my screen. It thought this is ironically funny. Was it intentional... hmmmmm!

Anyways, I agree with what has been said but I add the following. The whole idea of TV/entertainment is to 'drug' the arabic/muslim families. It offers a parallel reality in similar fashion to 'the matrix'. Ibn Hazm said that the nafs consists of three branches: 1. Lustful/animal/'Shahawanee' nafs 2. logical/talking/'Nateqa' nafs 3. Angry/`'3adba` nafs.

The concentration is always on the lustful nafs because it's easy to target (both of the parents and children). But as this nafs (family and ultimately society) gets used to what it sees, then an escalation in the temptation would be in order and hence more nudity and such. Having to occupy one nafs decreases the role of the other parts of nafs like our 'al nafs al nateqa'.

A second part of the nafs is the `nafs al '3adba`. This nafs is in my opinion very apparent. It's the nafs that gets your blood high with the first image that you see of Iraq but will die soon after when you switch to that video clip.

Al nafs al nateqa is how humans are different than any other creatures. The ability to think. Ofcourse, all nafs should be in harmony to live as humans with the nafs al nateqa in control.

In your blog, you looked at how the leniency of families towards sexual exploitation in video clips harms our society. Which is one of the sides of the equation. However, a more important issue would be: how video clips prevents us from perceiving reality and preventing us from developing. Family leniency towards sexual exposure is bad but what is worse is having this sexual exposure blind us from developing ourselves (as mentioned in the study). They mind sound like cause and effect, but if you replace video-clips with

with sports or movies, it will probably lead to the same effect.

That being said: I think that TVs do much more harm than good and it's upon us to raise ourselves and raise a good generation. TV is a drug (which might bring some benefits in little cases under extreme supervision (like any other drugs)) but for the larger part should not be used at all. These benefits can be gained using alternative and inventive ways (think making a TV channel for your kids/wife/wives by combining your choice of programs/news clips/etc from internet sources).

I am still struggling with some stuff I watched long time ago on TV!

Note: by TV, I do not mean the machine but the channels broadcasted.

thx for the topic you discussed, really it is getting more and more complicating, since the media could make our societies accept it as a habit, as something of the real life..
let have a real discussion about such topics (by the way there is an article about porn sites especially in the muslim communities in our site www.veecos.net)
