easyguide is a newly launched audio guide for tourists visiting the ancient Nabataean city of Petra .

The company behind the product is easyinfo, it is now working to develop the service to cover other tourist attractions in Jordan.

easyguide is a service that provides an audio tour guide to visitors, it is pre-loaded with commentaries pertaining to 33 most visited sites in the city in the rock, Petra and its history. Narrated by professionals in four languages; Arabic, English, French and Spanish. The commentaries are well researched and delivered in an enjoyable, pleasant format. This service is introduced in Jordan in two formats:

1) A hand held device that is similar to a walkman. This device is available for rent at some hotels in Petra. It is accompanied by a map of the key attractions with allocated numbers. A visitor to Petra simply punches the numbers to start listening to the corresponding commentary which may range from one to four minutes. The rental fee is JD10 per day.

2) By dialing 0900 99 303; using any personal mobile phone, tourists can access the service and choose their option of language and site. The service is available through all mobile service providers in Jordan for the cost of 300 fils per minute. The tourist needs a map as the one shown below which contains the key attractions in Petra with allocated numbers.

In essence, this service provides the luxury of a personal tour guide. An audio guide, when and where a tourist may needs it. Free of restrictions and time limitation.
