My mind gets a makeover!!

I am finally able to put my personal touch on the template I am using for my blog, and my Mind had a makeover using Jeeran's great CSS tool!!

I just took my time to go through it and do some changes here and there. Even though I am not a tech guru and have no HTML solid knowledge; I was still able to do some changes and come up with something that is a bit closer to me and my Mind.

I would love your feedback on this new look and all suggestions are welcome!

Rushing to a destination or to a waiting death??!!!

This morning as I was driving to work, I got into a traffic jam as usual and I was wondering what the cause might be this time.

As I neared the core of the reason, the ambulance was just leaving the scene and I was thinking that the drivers might be hurt so bad that and ambulance was needed to rush them to the nearest hospital, and luckily there was one very close by.

I did not realize how bad the accident was until I was right next to it. The policemen were doing their best to clear the scene and move the traffic. I had taken my camera out hoping to be able to capture the scene as I neared it and was able to take one single shot from the side.

As you can see from the picture, the mini bus has climbed over the separating street island and smashed in the electric post, so practically half the car was on the other side of the street which caused another car coming from the opposite direction to smash in the minibus from the front.

The shattered glass was allover the street and I could hear it under the tires of my own vehicle which caused a shiver to run through my body.

I do not know how badly the drivers were hurt or worse if one or both of them has died (God forbid), but I could almost smell it in the air.

This got me really thinking; when we are speeding up, and yes, I do that more often than not, so when we do that; are we rushing to reach a certain destination or rushing to face a more drastic action of fate? I mean; what is the worst that can happen if we are a few minutes late? Whatever happened to "Better Late than Never"? Why do we neglect the call of common sense that emerges from within us when it comes to the competitive nature of our souls?

I really felt so sad to have witnessed such an awful accident this morning and I hope to God that these poor drivers were not severely hurt.

A kid named google????!!

You probably have heard this or got it by email, but I thought this was cute enough to be posted on my blog!

We have always heard about babies named after famous football players, or singers, but for a kid to be named after an electronic site!! Now, this is new.

The email I got states that a lebanese family residing in Sweden had a baby boy, so the father went to google to search for a nice name for his son. Apparently; he got bored from searching and a bulb was lit in his head; why not name the baby after the site; i.e. google? and that's exactly what he did!!

Google learned about this baby, who is the first in the world to be named after the famous search engine, and they sent the family valuable gifts for the kid.

I believe that the family has great hopes for their newborn baby; he might become famous himself one day!

But what do you think they will name their second baby??? Yahoo??

Significant events of 2005

2005 was a very full year, on all levels and in every part of the world. Lots of lives were lost, in acts of wars, killings or mother nature.

Some of these people had a significant impact and contribution to history of their countries, and some people were unknown and passed this world without leaving a mark that will remind future generation of their lifetime and no one will know that they even existed at a point of time.

Scientific breakthroughs, discoveries, new inventions and lots and lots of new lives; this year has witnessed with us pains, sorrows and happy moments. We laughed, we cried, we got upset, we shouted, we smiled, loved, hated and expressed our feelings in their purest human forms.

As we prepare for the final count down of 2005 and move towards 2006, I wanted us to take some time off and review some of the significant events that took place in 2005.

To add some fun to this review; I have "cartoonically" posed for the 2005 calendar and will share the pictures here with you. All you have to do is click on the picture representing me for any specific month, and review the events, and while you are doing that; let me know which one of the "Me's" you like the most. 2005 is waving goodbye, taking with it a whole year of our lives, but it also added a lot to us, to our wisdom and experience. Hoping that 2006 will bring our way some nice surprises and good fortune. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Jordan Planet hompage has become one of those pages that I keep open almost all the time .. and I just go there every now and then to refresh the page and see what bloggers have to say .. maybe leave a comment here or there ..

I can't begin to describe how much I am enjoying the blogging experience ... it is like something inside me has been set free ... I am able to get my voice heard.
