طبيب الأسنان "الشاعر"

دائماً، هناك مكان في الإصلاحية لكتابة الشعر. وصديقي الذي اختطفه القرصان شاعر بامتياز. ليس لأنه يتقن الشعر، فلا أظنه كذلك؛ إنما لأن الشعر كامن فيما يؤمن به. يؤمن طبيب الأسنان، صاحب العيادة، أن شيئاً جوهرياً له قوة الشعر ولكنه ليس الشعر. أن شيئاً يأخذ مكان الشعرية في النص أو القصيدة، ولكنه ليس النص أو القصيدة. أن الشعر، هو في الانسجام، والمزيد من الانسجام، بين دورة الإيمانيات ودورة المسلكيات. وصديقي الذي يزور الإصلاحية للمرة الثانية، هو المنسجم على مستوى الاثنتين، المنسجم حدّ الغواية. أما خاطفه القرصان، فشرفه أنه هو المتفتّت!.

على مقربة من مريضه يجلس الطبيب المغدور. لا ينسى أن يضع الكمامة على فمه، ثم يهم بتوضيب الآلة. يحكّ السنّ تلو السنّ، فيتساقط الكلس والجير والحقد والضغينة وما بقي من لحم الغيبة. أنى لخاطفه أن يدرك شعرية "تنظيف الأسنان"، مادام لم يسبق له، ولا مرّة، أن شرّفه داخل العيادة!؟.

آخر مرة كنتُ مريضه، كان ذلك قبل ستة شهور. هل من مرضى آخرين؟. بعد الواحدة ظهراً: لا. قال. جاء دوري إذن. مثل كل الضحايا، أتمدّد على الكرسيّ. أفغر فاهي، فيما يبدأ هو بتهيئة أدوات شغله. يضع الكمامة على فمه، ثم يهم بتوضيب الآلة. يحكّ السنّ تلو السنّ، فيتساقط الكلس والجير والحقد والضغينة وما بقي من لحم الغيبة. ومعي، فإن هذه العملية تطول. تطول لأن كورس حكّ الأسنان يتمدد ليشغل فَسَحات أخرى، ليس أولها، تسديد رشقات النقد إلى الطريقة التي تدار بها أمور الشأن العام. وبخبرة من يتقن، بحكم عمله، إزالة قشرة الجير، يتقن طبيب الأسنان إزالة القشرة من على شخصيّات المسرح. هناك طبقات جيرية خارج الفم، وتحديداً داخل المجتمع، لكننا هنا نزيلها بالآلة، أما هناك فنحن بحاجة إلى "بلدوزر". يقول طبيب الأسنان، ويقفل دورة الشغل، فيما أتسمر أنا أمام المرآة، مبتهجاً بإعادة دورة الحياة إلى أسناني.

رن الهاتف قبل أسبوعين. من؟. طبيب الأسنان على الخط. استنكر عليّ، لأنني هجوتُ مثقفاً طفيلياً في إحدى مقالاتي، في الوقت الذي أنأى بنفسي، قال، عن هجاء مثقفين آخرين، هم بنظره يستحقون الهجاء. معه الحق، لكن الهاتف رنّ مرة أخرى بعد أسبوعين. من؟. صوتٌ أجشّ يقول: إن طبيب الأسنان المنسجم قد اقتيد إلى الإصلاحية. لم يكن لينتهي به الأمر إلى هذا المكان، لو أنه ارتأى لنفسه أن يعيش مثل خاطفه المتفتت. الحرية لطبيب الأسنان "الشاعر"!.

Dr. Mohammed Saeed and Hussain Abdul-Aziz have been detained for a further 15 days for merely posessing printed material that may “harm public interest”. The material in question is, I believe, this booklet by Dr Saeed Al Shehabi (Bahrain Freedom Movement), which I assume challenges the legitimacy of the Al Khalifa regime (the fonts in the pdf file are giving me an error so I haven’t had a look at it myself yet).

I do hope that more people will express their opposition and disgust of the government’s actions at future events organized by the families. In the past two years, the government has arrested individuals for collecting petition signatures, planning a demonstration, criticizing the government at a seminar,and criticizing the government on the Internet. And this list is by no means exhaustive. These repeated and continuous attacks on freedom of expression demonstrate why the criticism of the government and demand for the Prime Minister’s removal is not only justified, but necessary.

Anyways, below is the latest press release from the Committee of Solidarity with Activists and Detainees of Conscience, which is supporting the case of the detainees.

Bahrain: The Authorities continue targeting freedom of expression and commence assault on activists during popular interaction with “Bandargate”

Late yesterday (Saturday), the Bahraini Public Prosecution ordered both Dr. Mohamed Said (dentist-35 years), Hussein Abdul-Aziz to remain in custody pending investigations for a period of 15 days, on two charges. The first is “possession and acquisition of publications without legitimate cause, including favouritism and promotion of the changing systems of the State through illegal means and without a legitimate reason. The second charge is “possession and acquisition of publications, without legitimate reason, containing false news and exciting rumors, and would cause disruption of public security, and damage public interest.

According to the Chief Prosecutor, in today’s newspapers, that “one of the accused had downloaded these publications written on the Internet by a Bahraini residing in London-UK. It calls for the boycott of the elections and “civil disobedience” through a series of demonstrations, sit-ins. The second defendant, however, went to one of the presses for the printing of this article. They were intending to distribute these publications to the congregation in a number of mosques in Bahrain.

The defendants lawyers had asked for the release of the accused, but the Public Prosecutor refused to do so, considering the charges of State security nature, pursuant to Article (147), paragraph (2) of the Criminal Procedure Act.

This escalation in dealing with the activists augments during the interaction with Bandergate report, the scandal which the Bahraini authorities attempted to impose iron grip on its media coverage; legally banning any media coverage in the newspapers, blocking electronic sites interacting with the report and threatening their administrators. On last Friday-November 17- a popular march was forcefully turned into a picket, after the special security forces sealed off the area leading to its place. The march organizers- a group of 21 personalities- called for another march at the same time on November 24, 2006, one day before the parliamentary elections.

It is to be noted that Dr. Mohammed Saeed is one of the signatories of the petition addressed to the King on Bandergate calling for an investigation. He was active, along with others, in the publication of the report to the largest extent possible. The Bahraini authorities are trying to implicate the possession of publications calling for boycotting the forthcoming elections as a breach of State security, a well known practice in the former State Security period.The aims behind such act are:

1) send a message to the rest of the activists not to interact and deal with the Bandargate in any way, else the accusation “favouritism and promotion to change the state system by unlawful means” or “instigation, by one of the public means, for hatred or its contempt”, ready-made accusations of the Bahraini Penal Code – which were used to accuse the opposition activists in the State Security era.

2) The manner in which the arrest of activists- Mohammed and Hussein-brings to mind the old means of intelligence practice. This include attacking, inspection, at home, work and street, arresting and fabrication of accusations, without compliance with well known judicial procedures, which assumes the existence of a warrant for any search, arrest or imprisonment.

3) the contradiction in the statements of how the arrest of two activists- Mohammed and Hussein- emphasizes the political orientation aiming at undermining the activists and their activities which are bothering the Authorities.

4) Bringing about acquisition or possession of publications, calling for boycott of elections as a criminal act amounts to change of the regime, reinforces trend to the make any opposition to the elections in absentia. It also an intimidation of the other views as well as a message to all various individuals questioning the integrity of the elections.

The Committee of solidarity with the activists and detainees of conscience is thereto calling for dropping all the fabricated charges for the activists- Mohammed and Hussein- as well as their immediate and unconditional release. The International Declarations have respected freedom of expression and the free flow of information, which is becoming accessible and within reach through the Internet. Therefore, everybody has the right to disagree in opinion and promote their views - with or without confiscation the views of others- using every known means, the foremost are publications and articles-in any form found or obtained.

We appeal to international organizations to intervene to protect freedom of expression by all means, targeted by the Bahraini Authorities. We also call on everybody to show their protest, using all means of expression available, to the arrest and the targeting of these activists, until they are released and allowed to have their normal life returned.

Constitutional Fallacy

...constitutional monarchy? Self-appointed monarch and self-written consitution I agree.

There is no room in Bahrain for genuine dissent. As long as you keep your views within the confines of a given political margin set according to some screwed up monarchial barometer you will be ok. This margin is set by laws promulgated through royal decrees. Over the last few years the most dangerous of laws have been set this way, laws banning group gatherings, press freedoms, impunity of former officials, societies laws, terrorism laws and now the banning of any debate/publications on Albandar. Two activists arrested last night in a printing shop whilst collecting a print order of a publication calling for the boycott of the upcoming elections were arrested and charged under new terrorism laws that can carry the death penalty.

Quite frankly i'm dismayed that some still use the word 'democracy' or 'reform' in our country, Bahrain is the anti-thesis if there ever was one. Certainly, its a fallacious argument one that is built on repetition, if you repeat these two words enough times it becomes fact. Political discourse in the media set directly by the Ministry of Information in uncanny Orwellian fashion is quite sickening. The existing parliament is about as significant as my university's debating society, and at least we have a credibly fair Chairman. But let us not, the free-thinkers of us, regurgitate this fallacy. As things have progressed, I have come to believe that self-serving proponents of this fallacy are not just the usual suspects, but the bourgoisie and the religious establishment. To me this has been the most disillusioning. I don't expect much from the top dog, but I expected more from these two. The topic of Bahrain's mediocre bourgoise and faltering religious establishment will be discussed another time. They got our Bishops (the clerics), Knights (the bourgoisie) and Rooks (the political societies), and our pawns are scattered as each unashamedly chases a worthless parliamentary seat.

Its Check, but hopefully not Checkmate yet.

قبل الحديث... دون أدنى تحية:

إلى وزير الديوان الملكي البحريني الشيخ خالد بن أحمد آل خليفة، الذي يحكم البحرين حاليا، بالخداع، والمؤامرات، والمخاتلات، والإغراءات، وبالحديد والنار.. أنت ياوزير الديوان، تحارب بكل قوتك من يريد أن يشارك منّا في الانتخابات النيابية في يوم 25 من الشهر الجاري، وتحارب أيضا من يريد أن يقاطع منّا!، فما المطلوب منّا بالضبط؟.

نقولها لك منذ الآن، كد كيدك واسع سعيك،و ناصب جهدك، فوالله لن تمحو ذكرنا، ولن تُميت وحينا.

أما بعدُ فالحديث عن محمد سعيد..

... بعد أقل من ست سنوات، من تاريخ الإفراج عنه، عاد المواطن البحريني الطبيب محمد سعيد (31 عاماً)، ليبيت مساء أمس(الخميس) ليلته الأولى في السجن، وذلك بعد أن اختطفه عصراً من داخل أحد مقاهي الإنترنت، جلادون أجانب تابعون إلى جهاز الأمن البحريني.

عيادة الطبيب والناشط سياسي محمد سعيد، لا تبعد عن المكان الذي تم توقيفه فيه سوى بضعة أمتار، أما التهمة فهي " لا تكن شاهد زور"، وهذا هو إسم كتيب صغير، كتبه مسئول حركة أحرار البحرين في لندن سعيد الشهابي، ولذا تم توجيه تهمة" توزيع مطبوعات غير مرخصة بهدف زعزعة الأمن"!..

ما هذا الأمن الذي يزعزعه كتيّب صغير!؟.

أما ماذا يحتويه ذلك الكتيب، فهو ليس سوى رأي مكتوب لسعيد الشهابي، يشرح فيه وجهة نظره بخصوص صحة خيار مقاطعة الانتخابات المقبلة، وكان مقررا توزيع الكتيّب في البحرين خلال الأيام المقبلة.

كما تم اعتقال مواطن آخر أسمه على ما سمعت، محمد عبدالعزيز الحبشي، ووجهت له نفس التهمة التي وجهة لسعيد.

والدكتور محمد سعيد هو أحد الشخصيات التي وقعت على العريضة الموجهة لملك البلاد بخصوص مركز الخليج لتنمية الديمقراطية (مواطن) وما عرف محلياً بفضيحة "البندر" والمطالبة بالتحقيق فيها، وهي الفضيحة المدوية التي تورط فيها وزير ديوان الملك، وأبناء أخته من أبناء عطية الله، وكتبت عنها الصحف الأميركية.

نقولها منذ الآن، سيعود سعيد، ورفيقه الحبشي، أو نعود نحن إلى السجن، فليس الإيمان برأي المقاطعة جرما، وقد كان هذا الرأي سائدا في 2002، لكنكم أيها الجبناء لم تعتقلوا أحدا حينها، فلماذا التجريم الآن؟.

أعترف أنني كنت مختلفا سياسيا مع محمد سعيد، لكن..

أيها الجبناء .. الحرية لمحمد سعيد، والعار لكم..

هذا النظام لا يستحي. ولو كان يستحي لمات. أو في الأقل، لما تعامل بأسلوب عصابات الشوارع مع مواطنيه. أو في أقل الأقل، لتحفظ على الصديق الدكتور محمد سعيد بوسائل قانونه الذي ينفخ رأسنا به ليل نهار. أرسل له كتاب حضور مثلاً. أوقفه بإذن من النيابة العامة. تعامل معه مثل كل الدول المتحضرة التي تحترم نفسها وتحترم البني آدم. لكنه لم يفعل كل ذلك. وفضل أن يعتقله بالطريقة التي تدربت عليها عصاباته طيلة ثلاثين عاماً. ومن تدرب ثلاثين عاماً على أن يرى المواطنين حشرات تمشي برجلين، على أن يطلق غريزته السادية على خلق الله دون حسيب يحسب أو رقيب يراقب، على تشريط ضحاياه حتى الموت من أجل جعلهم يمضون مرغمين على الجرم غير المشهود، من تدرب على ذلك، لن يستطيع أن يفهم لماذا يجب التعامل مع المواطنين كذوات حقوقية وليسوا كحيوانات في قطيع. ومادام لم يستطع أن يفهم ذلك، فهو الحيوان، وهو الذي يجب أن يحاكم على إدامته حيونته في زمن حقوق الإنسان والنزعة الإنسانوية. ومثل هذا النظام، يجب أن يخجل من تسويق نفسه بوصفه إصلاحياً. وتالله، ما الذي بقي إلى المستبدين والمارقين والمفسدين في الأرض فساداً. لا، هذا نظام حيوان، وحيوان كامل. وأقل ما يمكن قوله فيه، هو هذا، ولو كان العكس، لأثبت ذلك. لكنه هو هو، وحش الغابة ولو طار برجلين. أسود الوجه، ولو تنظف بالمساحيق الاصطناعية. هذا النظام لن يستحي!.

أقدمت عناصر المخابرات الأجنبية التابعة إلى جهاز الأمن البحريني عصر أمس (الخميس) على اختطاف المواطن الدكتور محمد سعيد (31 عاماً)، وهو ناشط سياسي يعمل طبيب أسنان، واقتياده عنوةً ومن دون إذن من النيابة العامة، إلى مركز التحقيقات في العدلية، إحدى ضواحي العاصمة البحرينية (المنامة).

وكشف شقيق المختطف لـ"مداس آية الله" إن "قوة مؤلفة من عدة سيارات مدنية تابعة إلى وزارة الداخلية قد داهمت المتهم في أثناء تواجده في أحد مقاهي الإنترنت وتحفظت عليه وسيارته".

وقال "لم يتسنّ لأهل المختطف معرفة مصيره إلا بعد ساعات من إلقاء القبض عليه، على الرغم من مراجعتهم لأكثر من مركز شرطة بعد شكهم في أسباب تأخره عن موعد عودته إلى المنزل".

وأضاف "إن شقيقته قد تلقت اتصالاً منه يفيد بوجوده في مبنى التحقيقات من دون أن يعطي أية تفاصيل إضافية" على حد تعبيره.

وسبق وأن تم اعتقال سعيد أواخر التسعينات على خلفية نشاطه السياسي، وخرج من السجن في إثر مرسوم العفو الذي أصدره الشيخ حمد العام 2002 عن المحكومين بقضايا سياسية.

وفي وقت متأخر من ليل أمس، أصدرت وزارة الداخلية بياناً أوضحت فيه إن المختطف أوقف على إثر قيامه بـ"توزيع مطبوعات غير مرخصة بهدف زعزعة الأمن".

وذكر ناشطون أن المطبوعات المشار إليها، هي عبارة عن كتيب من تأليف الناطق باسم حركة أحرار البحرين سعيد الشهابي يؤصل فيه إلى ضرورات مقاطعة الانتخابات المقبلة، وكان مقررا لهذا الكتيب أن يتم توزيعه على نطاق واسع خلال الأيام القليلة القادمة.

وأشار بيان الوزارة إلى اعتقال مواطن آخر لم تذكر اسمه، وعرف لاحقاً أن اسمه حسين الحبشي.

وفي سياق متصل، أصدرت "لجنة التضامن مع النشطاء ومعتقلي الرأي في البحرين" بياناً طالبت فيه بإطلاق سراح المختطف محملة الحكومة مسؤولية سلامته.

وقالت "إذ تحمل لجنة التضامن مع النشطاء ومعتقلي الرأي السلطات البحرينية مسئولية سلامة الدكتور محمد سعيد، فإنها تطالب بالإفراج الفوري عنه دون قيد أو شرط"، مضيفة "كما تؤكد على حق شعب البحرين في التعبير عن مناهضته لممارسات التمييز والتهميش" حسب البيان.

كما أطلق ناشطون قريبون من المختطف مدونة خاصة باسمه ناشدوا فيها المنظمات الدولية بالتدخل والضغط على الحكومة البحرينية من أجل إطلاق سراحهfreemohd.jeeran.com .

والدكتور محمد سعيد هو أحد الشخصيات التي وقعت على العريضة الموجهة للشيخ حمد بخصوص تقرير مركز الخليج لتنمية الديمقراطية (مواطن) وما عرف محلياً بفضيحة "البندر" والمطالبة بالتحقيق فيها.

تجدر الإشارة الى ان نيف وعشرين شخصية وطنية قد دعت الى مسيرة شعبية إستنكاراً على التآمر على شعب البحرين كما جاء في التقرير المذكور، حيث تنطلق في الساعة الثالثة من عصر اليوم الجمعة في العاصمة المنامة.

Bahrain’s latest political prisoners

Last night two men were detained by the police, apparently for publicizing the demonstration planned for today, calling for an investigation in to the Bandargate scandal. One of the men, Dr Mohammed Saeed, a dentist from Sehla apparently, is a signatory to the petition to the King urging an investigation. Keep track of his case on the Free Mohd Saeed website.

And it looks like the riot police is going to attack yet another demonstration today, as the ministry of interior has announced that “uninformed demonstrations” will not be allowed (although the protest organizers claim that prior notification was given to the ministry three days ago).
